Bookmen Stacks

Minneapolis, MN

The Bookmen Stacks is a 9 story, 45 unit building that completes the three-quarter block residential campus designed by JDD. The building sits atop underground parking having a green roof plaza that recycles rainwater and provides needed green space to the neighborhood. First of their kind long span concrete trusses maximize floor area and greatly reduce construction cost, time, and material. The building is a model for how to build new with great economy and sustainable practices in a dense historic district.
