Highpoint Center for Printmaking

Minneapolis, MN

Highpoint Center for Printmaking is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the art of printmaking, and is the only accessible, community-oriented facility of its kind in the Upper Midwest. The completely renovated 10,000 square foot building doubled the size of Highpoint’s previous facility and includes museum quality galleries, large dedicated classroom, co-op studio, professional studio, screen print room, offices, library, and art storage. The interior is designed as a series of visually interconnected yet distinct spaces, encouraging collaboration and exposing the activities of each area. A private rain garden, designed in collaboration with the 2007 McKnight Distinguished Artist, Kinji Akagawa, sustainably manages roof and site stormwater while creating natural habitat and a tranquil environment for students, artists, and visitors.
